ABOUT ME

Myndi is a very successful singer, songwriter, and entertainer extraordinaire. A small town girl, she grew up near Houston Texas during the 1970′s the down-home community of Polk County. With its dusty roads and tree-lined streets, fiery redheaded Myndi was the track star of her high school.  A tomboy, who would later become the beautiful entertainer as you can see in her photo.  Her life was typical, in that she had the standard two-parent family.  Myndi, though, was not typical.  Before she could even talk, she was trying to sing along with the songs her parents listened to on the old radio in their small kitchen. Her father, recognizing her special talents, encouraged her by playing his guitar in the evenings and showing her the joys of phrasing, timing, and harmony.  By the age of four, she was singing with a 5-piece band at various venues around town.

Her big number was “Harper Valley PTA”.  She was a curly, redheaded version of Little Annie with a great big voice! Little Myndi, was always putting on a show and she came by it naturally. After all, her third cousin was rumored to be Lucille Ball. Someone once remarked after hearing her sing, “She sings straight from her heart, just like a bird!”  As she continued to grow and the usual life experiences unfolded, she married and raised four children. Becoming a widow and standing alone, she did not allow the circumstance of her life to tear her dream away. She held on to her dream of singing and entertaining. She continued to become “The Song Bird” earning a living to support herself and her children. Now, with her children successfully raised, she is still living that dream.  As a young up and coming entertainer, she performed all over the South. Her talents allowed her to perform all over Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana as well as in Nashville, Tennessee and everywhere in between.

She had the great privilege to entertaining at Mickey Gilley’s place. What experience she gained by singing with the likes of Silvia’s band, (Your Nobody Called Today) along with other wonderful bands, orchestras, and entertainers. She continues to display her love and talent on stages, large and small, all over the USA. In 1991, she performed at the Grand Ole’ Opry in a Patsy Cline, sound alike, singing contest. She won that coveted award beating out 200 other hopefuls, Miss Tennesee was her runner-up. While in Branson, she has performed at many various places. For two years, she had her own show at the Settle Inn. She also performed at the Downtown Motown Show and spent several years performing at local retreats like BT Bones, Beverly’s, and the Buzzard’s Nest.  Myndi performs a huge variety of music including country, pop, rock, and blues.

The one thing that makes her stand out, above other wonderful singers, is her ability to sound just like the person who’s song she is singing. Here are a few of her best: Patsy Cline, Patti Page, Crystal Gayle, Ann Murray, Tanya Tucker,  Karen Carpenter, Barbara Mandrel, Lori Morgan, Wynona, Faith Hill, Reba, Patty Lovelace, Rita Coolidge and many others.  This funny, beautiful, determined “Song Bird” would be a wonderful addition to your entertainment organization. Since she started her career as a small child, she has over 48years experience, even though she is a young woman. What an asset she is due to her history of experiences. It is said that she has the most seasoned voice in Branson.  Currently, Myndi is touring Florida singing the 40 voices she does, for bookings contact her at 828 676 8201
